This walking thing is hard.

I decided my big project for the month was to get on my own two feet and start walking. But this was much harder than I expected. First, I had to pull myself up, then balance on ths big ol' lion thing, but I haven't quite made the big step. I'm getting there.

But the other thing I did was get baptized. I have no idea exactly what that means, but I got to wear the same pretty pink dress Sadie wore for her baptism. But it was a little odd when some big guy took me from Mom and held me and then sprinkled water on my head. Sadie apparently knew what all of this was about because the day before she took her water bottle and sprayed me on the head until I was soaking wet. I handled all of this water stuff very well. But then the big guy held me up in front of the crowd and they all agreed that they would teach me the ways of Jesus. I don't know who he is, but afterwards we went to brunch at Matthew's 1600 - at that point I could've used a mimosa. But instead I got a bottle and some mushy apple stuff.

In the midst of all of this, we got a new couch for our new house. Mom plopped me down while I was wearing nothing but a diaper and took this picture with her iPhone. Then she played around with it and made it an artsy Black and White photo. It looks better than the color one... you can't tell as much that I have a big bruise on my forehead from one of those attempts to walk. Sadie said that happened to her a lot. There are lots of photos where she ran into stuff and got some bumps and bruises.

Hi! I'm back!

The family moved to a new state and Mom started a new job. Dad has been doing the stay at home dad thing and I think he's GREAT at it. He gives me baths and he feeds me and he makes sure Sadie doesn't hug me to hard.

Okay, to be honest, Sadie does sometimes hug me a tad to much. She's strong, and has a tight squeeze.

But Sadie has quiet moments too. She likes to read me Goodnight Moon.

My favorite part is when the old lady says, "Hush."
It's a fascinating book. You should try it sometime.

I'm getting a tooth!!!

This teething thing is rough. Mom thinks I'm handling it much better than Sadie did. I try to smile and laugh, and ignore it all. But it was starting to really get to me. I drool, I chew on everything - but I FINALLY got somewhere with all of it. I've been dealing with all of this for months.

On my bottom left side, there's a tooth starting to pop through! This makes me very, very happy.

It seems like all of a sudden I have so many new things I'm experiencing. And apparently we'll be moving, so there's even more new stuff I'll be seeing. I'm already planning my next blog post. I think I might title it:

Bananas: The Yummiest Food Ever

I don't care if you disagree....

Zebras and duckies definitely go together! I checked with my big sister Sadie and she said, "Yes!" In case you haven't heard, she's a style icon. She rocks bright orange poofy skirts with jeans, wears preschool Uggs (she says they are knock-offs but are equally awesome and budget-friendly), and she says fairy wings are "in" for next season.

So, I asked her if zebra stripes and duckies are okay to mix and match, and she told me that as long as I wear it with confidence and a smile, then it's a resounding "OH YEAH!!!"

It's so good to have Sadie's guidance in things like these.

Top 3 things I learned last week....

Okay, I've actually learned more than 3 things - like that Sadie doesn't like waking up early, she doesn't like going to bed early, and she'll yell if she doesn't get her way. Luckily, I've been able to sleep through most of it.  I think she has also learned that Mom and Dad are not taking me back to the hospital! I'm definitely staying as part of the family. So she is making the best of it by tickling my head when she feels like it while singing, "Tickle! Tickle! Tickle!" - and that makes me laugh.

But really, I've learned 3 major things in the past week.

1. I can roll over!!! Yep, on my own. Then when I'm on my belly, I do a yoga move where I spread my arms and legs wide and pretend I'm flying. The only problem with this is that I have not mastered rolling back. So I end up face down in my own drool until someone picks me up.

2. I decided yesterday to give Mom some kudos for taking care of me and anticipating my needs. I did this by looking at her straight in the eye and said, "MUM MUM MUM!!!" Then I did it this morning just to prove it wasn't an accident.

3. I also learned this teething thing takes longer than I thought. And that, my friends, is a total bummer.

I love my big sister...

But sometimes she gets distracted. (And I was never going to actually eat the jump rope. Puh-leeze. It just helps with the teething.)  I swear Sadie's obsessed with it. She's jumping all the time. I can roll over, but I'm not quite at the jumping stage. Kinda feels like she's rubbing it in.

A Word on Teething....

I don't like it. I understand it's a necessary part of having teeth so I can chew stuff and smile with a big toothy grin... but this kinda stinks. Now, I'm not a baby. Okay, I am... but I don't act like one. I don't cry about it. I just yell a lot. Normally, I look like this....

But after a teething spell... Mom gives me some icky tasting Baby Orajel and a bit of Baby Tylenol, and I'm like this:

Clearly, I am not pleased.

Then I take a nap. Word on the street is that I either sound like a cat purring when I'm in a good mood, and I snore when I'm not.

Been taking it easy the past few weeks....

The holidays were pretty busy. I was teething a lot, so I tried to distract myself with other stuff.

First, I stared in awe of the size of my pink teddy bear. I'm not sure what to name her. She looks like cotton candy to me.

I also took a look at Sadie's Sesame Street books, just to look at the pictures.

I'm a fan of Big Bird. He looks nice.

And I nap. A lot. Mommy got the pack n' play out so I could chill without worrying about Sadie running around me. She's very energetic when she has peanut butter cups. I haven't tried them yet, but she really likes them. Mom worries when she has more than 3 at a time 'cause then she can't sit still.

Dear Santa,

I don't know who you are, or why your reindeer friends fly, and I don't want to get into the personal stuff about where you live and what size your Santa suit is because I find that a bit rude. BUT, I do want to thank you for the teethers you left in my stocking - they are already very helpful. I think I'm sprouting a tooth, and I'm drooling all over the place. Mom calls them "Drool Bombs". But anyway....

Sadie said you like wearing big red furry hats. I like hats too. Check out this rockin' one my Uncle Bryce sent me. I think it's stylin'! (This is my ponderous model look...)

And I even got some organic toys. My lamby blankie is soft and environmentally friendly. That makes me happy. And it catches my drool bombs.

And thanks for the big stuffed pink teddy bear, Santa! It's as big as me, so when I'm not using my car seat or my pod, she sits in it. I haven't named her yet.

Yes, she is my first teddy bear.

And speaking of bears, after we opened presents, we went over to Nana and Poppy's. I wore my bear suit that makes me look like an Ewok from Star Wars.

Do you like my bear feet? Get it? BEAR FEET. *giggle*

Love,

I Don't Know What Fraggles Are....

... but I love this song! I stop what I'm doing when I hear it.

It makes me happy and in the holiday spirit.

I'm a People Person....

My big sister Sadie had her preschool Christmas pageant on Friday, and then they had a party. It was kind of like a meet n' greet, so Sadie introduced me to some of her classmates. I met Lucie, and Katie, and a nice girl named Lauren. I even met someone younger than me. His name is Owen. This is me hanging out with everyone while they ate cookies and punch. I had milk.

Sadie really has a thing for Chocolate Chip Cookies... and tiny cupcakes.

But I've been sticking to milk lately. Teething has been getting me down. I drool a lot, and to be honest, it hurts. Even if I use a frozen pacifier or that icky tasting Baby Orajel.

But I've heard of this guy named Santa, and that he likes to give kids like me presents. So, I'd like teething to go a little faster.... and a few books. Sadie said books are awesome, so I'm going on her recommendation.

And hats. I like hats. Especially ones with letters on them.

Yeah, I look a lot like my dad.

This is me and my dad. He does my hair. Get it? He does my hair? Baldies unite!

Actually, when you see my hair in natural light, it's really RED. This means I got Mom's hair. She said there needs to be more redheads in the world.

I've been having an interesting month. It's been very busy, and Mom has been home a lot more than she had planned. I guess she got back from maternity leave and four days later, she was laid off. She's really mad, but we are making the most of our time together. She's been looking for jobs while I nap.

Mom and Dad put up a tree and put lights on it, and the house smells like cinnamon. I'm still into milk, but maybe someday I'll add cinnamon to my milk. It smells lovely in here. It makes me smile. I smile a lot actually. I just can't help it. I'm just a really, really happy kid. Actually, let me send a smile out to you.

And.... KAPOW!!!! I'm sending virtual happiness. Can you feel it?

My Big Sister Is Smart....

She was the one who started all the blogging stuff. But she's a very opinionated person. Trust me.... sometimes it's all about Sadie. But she wanted to help me express my feelings. I'm a bit quiet and mellow. I don't yell much. Don't really need to since Mom and Dad take care of my needs. I'm hungry, they feed me. My diaper needs a change, they do it. I just chill out a lot. Which makes me think the Trouble Maker mug on the shelf behind me isn't Mommy's. It's Sadie's.

But Sadie has been helping me with my blog. She asks me questions. Then she types. (She prefers writing in her Elmo pajamas.)

I think she even knows a little HTML.

But she definitely gets lost in her thoughts a lot. We all appreciate those quiet times.

Why Am I Dressed Like a Pumpkin?

... seriously... Why? Usually I wear pink onesies, or something with polka dots or flowers or something that says "I Love Mommy." I am confused (as you can see in this photo.)

And Mom hasn't explained it to me. But I do like my hat. It was made by Mommy's college friend, Miss Maureen. I've been told to also wear it for Syracuse University football games - since it also doubles for an orange. So, uh, GO ORANGE!

Rough Morning...

I coughed, hiccupped and farted at the same time. Even worse, right after that I sneezed and milk came out of my nose. I can assure you I was more surprised than my mom was.

*sigh*

I'm going to take a nap.

I don't know who Phish is...

... but I like my new hat. It's pretty funky. I guess Sadie kind of likes them because she was using Mommy's hairbrush to rock out to them. I overheard Mom saying that Uncle Eric and Uncle Bryce are big fans. I haven't met them yet, but they sound like really nice people. It was Uncle Eric who sent me this cool hat.

Three things I've learned over the past 2 months....

A. People like it when I smile.

B. It's okay to be silly.

C. There's a lot of surprising things in this world. Like Daddy's singing. That's, um, very surprising. And when Mommy wakes up first thing in the morning. This is me thinking, "You are going to wear THAT? Really? Are you sure?"

But I haven't found the words yet.

I might not have hair...

... but I'm considering certain looks for when I DO have hair. Sadie showed me Mom's iPhone and we played with an app to give me a makeover. This is what we came up with....

This is if I have Mom's hair color. I guess Dad had really straight hair before he went for the baldy look.

And this is if I grow it long, and have some Dad's hair color...

And this is if I choose to be a little more creative. I like this one.

It's almost the end of September already?

Hiya! I thought you might like an update on my busy month...

I'm over 6 weeks old now, and I went to see Dr. Sherri. She said I'm in the 95th percentile for height, just like my sister! We're both pretty tall for our age. Mom was surprised because that meant that I'm growing quickly out of my panda sleeper outfit already and I eat like a trucker.

It was a sunny month too. So I put on some shades one Friday and chilled out. See my onesie? Yeah, Daddy does my hair. Sadie said he did her hair too. She said she didn't have any even on her 1st birthday. The little bit that I do have is really red. That makes Mommy happy because she said, "We need to populate the world with redheads." Sure, whatever. I'm cool with that.

Ooooooh... and you know what I'm really excited about? Sadie also told me that Halloween is coming, and that means we all dress up silly and eat candy. I don't know what candy is but, it sounds really yummy.

I've been thinking about stuff....

It's been a busy month, so I haven't written much. I've been eating, looking at stuff, and sleeping a lot. I'm just taking it all in. People like saying hi to me... even people Mom and Dad don't even know. We were walking through the mall, and total strangers say comments like, "Wow! She's little!" I'm the right size for my age, but I guess people don't see a lot of newbies very often. Sadie has been wearing a t-shirt that says, "I'm the Big Sister!" I hope I'm not stealing her thunder. Actually, it's kind of hard to ignore Sadie.

Sadie has been a good big sister so far. She always says, "Hi Georgie!" when she comes home. And she holds my hand sometimes. She also asks to hold me sometimes. And she sometimes kisses me. She's pretty cool.

And something else I've noticed: Mom and Dad have a lot of books. I don't know how to read yet, but the books are lots of different colors, so I stare at the bookshelves a lot.
